ANIMATION AND STORYBOARDS
Animation Epicurus from Lianne den Hartog on Vimeo.
An animation assignment telling the story of the Greek philosopher Epicurus and his view on happiness. With this animation I really wanted to embrace a more cartoony and playful style, something that would beam happiness itself.

Storyboard excerpts for two sequences of the above-mentioned animation.
An animation assignment for museum De Pont in Tilburg, the Netherlands. We were asked to choose one of their exhibited artworks and create an animation based on that. I had chosen an artwork of Gerhard Richter called 'Flow'. I was fascinated by the bright colors, the flowing shapes and the feeling as if you'd get sucked into this painting. That's why I wanted to use a lot of water-related motives and creatures in my animation, as well as using brightly colored backgrounds, which I made with ecoline inks.

An animation assignment for the EersteWereldOorlog.nu foundation, made together with Whitney Ferdinandus. The foundation wanted us to make informative animations about the stories behind obscured World War One monuments in the Netherlands. As we were completely free in the way we wanted to execute our animation I found this a great opportunity to experiment with muted colors and animal characters.
